About the treatment
Dentures replace missing teeth and gum tissue to restore chewing, speech, and facial support. Options include complete dentures (when all teeth are missing), partial dentures (clip onto remaining teeth), and implant-supported overdentures for extra stability. Treatment typically involves impressions, jaw-relation records, a try-in, and final fit over 3–5 appointments; expect a brief adjustment period with possible fine-tuning for sore spots. Care includes daily brushing of the denture, rinsing after meals, removing at night, soaking in cleanser, and periodic relines as gums change. At AVMSmiles, we explain material choices (acrylic/metal frameworks), bite and esthetics at the try-in, and when implants can improve retention.
